“I became a massage therapist several years ago because I believe that the power of touch is healing. Becoming a doula very shortly after, I’ve averaged about 5 births a month for the past few years.

My mission is to have my therapeutic hands, gentle comforting voice, relatable appearance, reassuring presence, and amusing attitude be a healer and educator for women and children who suffer from pain, stress, and anxiety brought on by environmental or personal circumstances, high-risk medical conditions, and diseases.

My vision is to use my spiritual talents as vast significant tools to promote inner healing and inner peace and to empower women and children in overcoming circumstances, conditions, and diseases so they can share their testimonies of inner recovery day-to-day.”

Licensed Massage Therapist, Talsasha Sumling, is a certified birth/postpartum doula, endorsed surgical/VBAC doula, infant massage instructor, and an Evidence Based Birth ® Instructor. After receiving her massage therapy diploma from Texas Health School in 2010, Sumling began her training as an intern then further became a certified infant massage instructor from Houston Pregnancy Massage and Doula Care. While at HPM&DC, she obtained certifications in Labor Massage, Pregnancy Massage Level 1, 2, and 3, Postpartum Level 1 and 2, Premature-Newborn-Infant Massage, and Special Delivery Medical Doula Certification. In 2013, Sumling studied hypnotherapy and holistic nutrition through the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts where she later received her Mind-Body Wellness Practitioner Diploma. Further, in 2016, Sumling became a Madriella Certified Postpartum Doula through the Somatic Arts and Sciences Institute. Sumling has extensive experience throughout the Houston doula community by providing contract services with physicians in the local area for over nine years. Sumling is the founder of Massagemomma, a pregnancy massage and doula care service where she provides in-office and outcall work for her clients. The massage therapy and birth doula affiliations that Talsasha Sumling has been affiliated with over the years include the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (2010—2014), the DONA International Professional Membership (2010-Present) the American Massage Therapy Association (2017-Present), the National Black Doula Association (2018–Present), Evidence Based Birth® (2019-Present ), the Postpartum Support International (2020), Holistic Chamber of Commerce (2022), Black Women do VBAC (2023) and Body Ready Method® Certified Pro (2024)

My Kids

“When I think of my kids, I think of them as a reflection of me.

My oldest, my son, is a vibrant and colorful 27-year old graduate from St. Johns University with a bachelor’s degree in Science majoring in Film and Television Production and minor in Fashion Study. He’s currently a 5th grade elementary teacher.

My middle child, my oldest daughter, is a spicy and smart 22-year old graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in interior design and architecture. She’s currently attending The University of Texas School of Architecture pursuing her Master's in interior design.

My youngest daughter is 20 "and a junior" at Baylor University majoring in Child and Family Studies. She has the voice of an angel with prestige honors in the choir program. My daughter has a rare autoimmune condition, juvenile dermatomyositis, so I know the struggles and joys of mothering amidst the challenges. My Journey to Motherhood

"Stretch marks are indented lines stretched in the skin caused by hormonal changes and rapid weight gain, common in pregnancy. Although not cosmetically beautiful, every time I look down at them, I think of the journey they took me on to motherhood. Each time I carried my babies, my skin stretched. But I knew I was creating a beautiful being. It didn't bother me. Every second of nausea and pain associated with my pregnancies and births accounted for 27 months of my life.
